DIVORCE
AND CO-PARENTING
With over 50% of marriages ending in divorce, successful co-parenting
is more important than ever. Conflict between former partners is often
inevitable and it may seem unthinkable to begin to build a new parenting
relationship with an ex-spouse. However when mothers and fathers can
agree on parenting issues and support each other’s efforts to
create a loving, safe environment, children can continue to grow and
thrive after divorce. Managing conflict and learning some basic negotiating
skills is critical for this to occur.
